Laura from Copper + Olive Photo shares her images from a beautiful studio shoot to mark this wonderful family’s new arrival.
On a cold December’s day, the studio is always warm, cosy and inviting. This lovely family had a shoot with me one summer when their first child was much smaller. They were blessed to welcome an early Christmas present in the form of a new baby brother. No greater gift!
Didsbury Photography Studio
The studio is very busy at the moment with lots of little newborns. My Didsbury photo studio is perfect of newborn shoots. I make sure it is nice and toasty before little ones arrive - especially as parents usually make use of my baby client closet. There are a variety of lovely, soft, neutral outfits for baby to wear. They work perfectly for my style of photography and its a great way to avoid having to spend money on an outfit baby will likely only wear once or twice!
Arriving at Your Newborn Shoot in Didsbury
When you arrive, your favourite got drink will be waiting for you so you can relax and get cosy. You can browse my client closet and get baby ready for their first ever shoot! Then sit back and enjoy your drink whilst I get solo photos of baby - including all those scrumptious little details.
Accommodating your Newborn and Children
Your newborn shoot is mainly led by baby - if they are happy then everyone is happy and we’ll get the best photos. We’ll get photos of baby solo when they’re settled. If they want to be hedged, we’ll go with photos with mummy / daddy / siblings. We’ll work to their beat. If you’re bringing any older sibling(s) to the shoot, then we’ll also work to what they need - making sure to get the sibling photos in early doors whilst they’re enthusiastic, or waiting until they’re more settled if that works best for them. I am very flexible, patient and accommodating so we’ll make sure we get the best photos possible on the day.

I’m a mum myself so I totally get the needs of little ones. My daughter is almost five now (sobs) and I still vividly remember those early days, and how daunting it can be. The studio is a totally safe space. Make it home for the hour or so. Get yourself cosy. Feel free to offload about your birth and these early days. We will capture your newborn bubble in all its messy magic.
